Hrvatski premijer Zoran Milanović izjavio je kako je razočaran slabim odazivom birača na referendumu. Smatra da je razlog tome zamor građana, kako zbog općeg stanja u zemlji tako i zbog nedavnih parlamentarnih izbora. Za pristupanje Hrvatske EU odlučilo se oko 65 posto građana koji su izašli na referendum. Na izbore je izašlo tek nešto više od trećine birača, Hrvatska ima nešto manje od 4 milijuna birača.
